Dr. Adaeze Okafor, DDS

General & sedation dentistry

Dr. Okafor opened BrightSmile in 2009 with one chair and a simple idea: nobody should feel embarrassed or rushed at the dentist. A graduate of the OHSU School of Dentistry, she has since completed over 1,200 hours of continuing education in sedation, implant restoration and anxiety-free care.

When she's not in the office, you'll find her coaching her daughter's soccer team or attempting (and mostly failing) to keep sourdough alive.

Dr. James Hartley, DMD

Implants, crowns & full-mouth rehabilitation

Dr. Hartley joined in 2014 after a residency at the VA Portland Health Care System, where he restored hundreds of veterans' smiles. He leads our CEREC same-day crown program and places and restores dental implants in-house.

He's a lifelong Oregonian, a weekend trail runner, and the office's resident espresso snob.

Cosmetic & Invisalign

Dr. Linh Nguyen, DDS

Invisalign Diamond Plus provider & cosmetic dentistry

Dr. Nguyen has guided more than 650 patients through Invisalign treatment and designs our veneer and whitening cases with an artist's eye. She trained in aesthetic dentistry at the Kois Center in Seattle.

She paints watercolors, collects vintage film cameras and believes everyone deserves a smile they love in photos.

Dr. Sofia Ramirez, DDS

Family & pediatric-focused dentistry

Dr. Ramirez is the reason our youngest patients beg to come back. She completed a general practice residency with a pediatric focus at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and has a gift for turning a first checkup into an adventure.

A mom of three, she's fluent in Spanish, Paw Patrol and negotiating with toddlers.
